About Us

Commercial fisherman have a living to make by selling their catch. RSA's do not and it's that simple, and what Recycle Fish is about is to encourage anglers to return as many fish as possible back to the sea alive and to demonstrate to those who create legislation that affects us, that we are responsible people who just want to go fishing!

Anglers who have joined Recycle Fish have made a statement. They have simply said that whilst they might take fish home to eat and share with their friends and family, they don't kill all the fish they catch.

They get pleasure by luring the fish to their bait and indeed from the fight to the surface, but it's letting the fish swim back alive, that gives them their biggest kick!

Joint Initiative

We have been working closely with the Dorset Wildlife Trust in a joint initiative to produce an "anglers code of conduct" reference card, we have named it the "Anglers Tackle Box Card" as it is not only waterproof but an ideal size for slipping into your tackle box, we have also been lucky enough to get approval and support for our initiative from Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall (River Cottage Series) and TV Producer & Journalist Nick Fisher,

Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Nick Fisher

Hugh said;

"Congratulations to the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Recycle Fish Campaign for working together in the creation of this Anglers Code of Conduct Initiative,

This waterproof tackle box card will be very useful to recreational sea anglers and I hope everyone will not only embrace the principle of catch & release, buy also adopt the recommended methods of handling and caring for our sea fish and the marine environment in which they live."

Thanks Hugh and Nick, we could not agree more ...... (The Team)
